Is It Possible To Quit Smoking with NLP?

We all know how smoking can be a hard to quit habit for thousands, if not millions, of people across the globe. Yeah, smoking sucks and you may be in the situation when smoking is more like a drug for you. Unfortunately for you, smoking can kill you, so it is best to quit as soon as possible. But... is NLP the answer?

According to studies, NLP has proven to be an effective method to quit smoking forever. However is not as simple as going through a session and Voila!! Problem solved.

Certains conditions must be met in order to NLP treatment to work. Let's go over this conditions:

1.A true desire to quit smoking. This is crucial, but is often overlooked, you have to get in touch with yourself and make a true decision. This means you have to think for yourself also. If you're being caried to a treatment, well..then it won't work. Because it is not YOUR desire. Maybe you should read about all the real dangers of smoking, I'm sure then you will have a real reason to stop smoking.

2.External support. That's right the first condition involved the inner world, but sometimes the outside world works against us. First and foremost your family and/or immediate surroundings must be supportive, this means that they will understand you and avoid any temptation to you. It is important for them not to mistake support with censorship. When we are told not to do something we crave for doing it.

An NLP treatment with those 2 conditions met, is very powerful. But is also very important to use a proper trained NLP practicioner that can truly help you. A lot of people get caught on prices, but price most of the time comes with quality. Ask all the questions you have to ask, and seek the best resource. A healthy mind and body is priceless, and once you become aware that is possible to quit smoking using NLP, you will find that everything is possible.

Sales And Neurological Levels

Logical levels? What is that, you might ask? It is a model created by Robert Dilts, a pioneer in the field of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) after studying Gregory Bateson (1904-1980). Some believe that Bateson will before long (presumably in the 21st century) come to be recognised posthumously as "another Einstein of the 20th century" or even as beyond him. Bateson part Anthropologist, Social Scientist, Cyberneticist, was one of the most important social scientists of this century.

With this background in mind, Dilt's created a learning model called "Neorological Levels." My persupposition in this article is that, in the consultive sale you uncover the need. This is the first level in the nuerological levels. If the person you are selling to doesn't live in the "envorionment" where your product of service is needed, you will not get any further.

Once you have uncovered the "need" for your service. Your customer will start to evaluate your behavior. This is where the skills of rapport come in. Your prospect will evaluate how consistant are you with your method of delivery. This can be real or synthetic as NLP teaches. You can match body posture, tone and tempo and even breathe like they do. But this will only work for small ticket items. When selling as a consultant, your true nature will be revealed. This is where the skilled salesperson is head and shoulders above the rookie. You can't fake it while your making it. In fake, it is better to lay your cards on the table and let them know you are a rookie. You will then be using this logical level of behavior to your advantage. People by their very nature want to help. They will help you close the sale.

Once you have worked through the first two levels of environment and behavior, you will start interacting with their beliefs and values. If you are positioning your product in alignment with their values, it will fit into their beliefs. The natural salesperson does this by nature. The prospect is using words like challenge, freedom or flexibilty. Each of these words are hot buttons for that person and they also relate to their beliefs and values. You would do well to listen for these words I term Impact words in my book, "Awaken the Genius."

As you iteract on these first three levels in sales, you are getting to know one another -- figuring out if you can do business together.

As you understand this level of learning, you will ask questions to educate and lead the prospect. Hence, to do this, you should be using the ABC of sales. Always be closing. This allows you to know if they have the capacity to make the decision to buy or not. Which is the next level. If they are not the decision maker you should work to empower them to get that person or group involved.

Once you have everyone who will be making the decision involved, it is time to ask the need-payoff questions. This is a series of questions that once the prospect answers them they are identifying with your product or service. Identifying is the next step in the logical level process. If they don't have the need they will not identify. If they don't think they or their company can demonstrate the behaviors necessary they will not identify. If your product or service is not in alignment with their values and beliefs they will not identify.

That means, it is your task in the sales setting to get these four specific areas to align and it will move your prospect beyond identifying and they will become part of your sales force -- helping to refer family members, business associates and staff members and it all started with the idea of educating, enlightening and motivating them to buy your product or service.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro linguistic Programming is commonly referred to by its acronym: 'NLP.' In general, NLP Training may be acquired through various workshops, distance and online learning programs; seminars and other comprehensive educational courses.

NLP Training comes in a variety of educational levels to match individual needs geared towards personal and/or professional development; including NLP training for life coaches and mental health practitioners.

NLP training courses encompass instruction that help students to master effective techniques for transforming weak belief systems and negative behavior; how to handle choices and bring forth resolutions between difficult individuals; how to communicate effectively and productively; how to gain control of emotions and how to use past experiences to produce personal growth; and how to positively reinforce self to develop overall well being and personal confidence.

NLP training certification programs teach students all the above; but also incorporate methodical instruction that assists practitioners in better understanding and helping clients to develop positive means to help bring about healthy resolutions.

Advanced NLP training may include but are not limited to specific courses including self hypnosis and hypnosis; trance; inner conflict resolution; past life and age regression; unconscious symbols; and other related techniques.

Neuro linguistic training programming courses vary in cost and tuition, and in duration. It is always important to contact schools or distance education programs prior to registering for any course. Critical questions one should ask about NLP coursework could include whether or not certifications are offered, continuing education, etc. Other personal queries may be whether or not one is enrolling in a NLP course for personal or professional reasons; this will provide a general idea to class support staff that will be better able to assist you with your educational needs.
